The founders of Aziz Restaurant and Cafe came to us with a unique and enticing concept.
They wished to develop a restaurant that fuses the old Bahrain with the new; fueled completely by a feeling of nostalgia, the cafe would include authentic rustic metal doors from Bahrain’s old Manama souq, classic old-fashioned floor tiles, and red Persian carpets very similar to the ones we grew up around in our houses, Arabic love graffiti on the walls and more sentimental items from the ’80s and ’90s period while at the same time featuring modern minimalistic Scandinavian furniture and setting, Italian and European coffee machines to develop a reflection of the 80’s generation that grew up in the rapidly modernizing Bahrain. We got to work immediately and developed a variety of concepts, our final concept was an exact reflection of what they wanted. Modern, fun, and relaxed logo featuring the word Aziz in English type; the twist is when tilting your head sideways, the same word can be clearly seen in Arabic type. An exact representation of the duality of this fusion concept.
